A 51-year-old Glendale woman who allegedly drove over a pedestrian’s foot was arrested for a suspected felony hit-and-run after turning herself in on Friday, police said.

At 5:57 p.m., officers responded to a hit-and-run incident at Central Avenue and Americana Way, said Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot.

A 15-year-old man was walking in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a black Honda, Lightfoot said. The alleged driver, Voski Chalikyan, reportedly failed to stop and fled the scene, she said.

The victim was treated at Glendale Memorial Hospital for a sprained and bruised foot.

A witness obtained Chalikyan’s license plate number and gave the information to police. Officers identified the motorist as Chalikyan and attempted to locate her at her residence, but she had already driven to the Glendale Police Station to turn herself in, Lightfoot said.

She was arrested, charged and bailed out for $50,000.
