Golf: All-Area First Team

Audrey Chung, Sophomore, Crescenta Valley: Carded a sixth-place finish at the Pacific League individual tournament and provided a solid 1-2 punch with Jocelyn Chia to help Falcons win share of league title. Advanced to the CIF Southern Section Girls’ Golf Individual Final for the first time.

Joany Gao, Junior, Burroughs: Two-time All-Area pick finished seventh at the Pacific League individual final. Qualified for the CIF Southern Section Girls’ Golf Individual Final.

Melissa Leo, Junior, La Cañada: Took third at the Pacific League individual tournament and helped Spartans qualify for the postseason. Three-time All-Area honoree reached the Women’s Southern California Golf Assn. Regional Qualifier.

Irene Maemura, Sophomore, Burbank: Finished second in the Pacific League individual championship and provided the Bulldogs with a strong building block. Made her inaugural appearance at the CIF-Women’s Southern California Golf Assn. Girls’ Southern California Championship, becoming the first Bulldog to accomplish the feat since Grace Woo in 2004.

Katie Rosenberg, Sophomore, South Pasadena: Won her second-straight Montview League individual title and helped the Tigers capture the league crown. Two-time All-Area selection reached the CIF Southern Section Girls’ Golf Individual Final for a second season in a row.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Lee Pope, Crescenta Valley: Guided team to a share of the Pacific League championship and a sixth-place finish at CIF Southern Section Central Team Divisional for the second straight season.
