Letter: Boxer should be less like Lenin

Share

I just received an email from Sen. Barbara Boxer in which she expressed joy and relief over ending the shutdown and a hope that there will be no shutdowns in the future. She says, “…we should never go through another government shutdown.”

I believe Boxer will support another shutdown if she feels it will provide the leverage needed to get her way.

Unfortunately, her way is leading this country toward an unsustainable level of debt as reflected in the recent Chinese downgrade of our credit. The entire world sees the destructive path we are on. Why doesn’t Boxer?

I feel Boxer is more like Marx and Lenin than Jefferson or Lincoln. This is what she is helping to accomplish: “The way to crush the bourgeoisie (middle class) is to grind them between the millstones of taxation and inflation,” as stated by Vladimir Lenin (Russian founder of the Russian Communist Party, leader of the Russian Revolution of 1917).

Raising the debt limit and pushing through President Obama’s (un)Affordable Care Act further grinds the middle class with taxes (called increased premiums) and inflation as our dollar becomes more and more worthless.

Another Lenin quote that applies to Boxer and makes me suspicious of her intentions is: “A system of licensing and registration is the perfect device to deny gun ownership to the bourgeoisie.”

Could Boxer please start working at being more in line with the freedoms our republic was built on, with the founding fathers and with the U.S. Constitution she took an oath to defend, and less like Lenin?
