Marie McFadden

Marie McFadden, born June 13, 1919, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, went to be with the Lord on November 6, 2011. Marie was born in Knowlton, Wisconsin, the daughter of Frank and Celia Root. She touched the lives of many with her abundant life as a head bank teller, teacher at John Muir Elementary, and a real estate agent. Marie was a devoted Catholic at Holy Redeemer Church in Montrose, CA. She enjoyed spending her mornings with a church service, followed by a coffee social with friends. When she was at home, she never missed a Laker game… which she enjoyed watching with her grandchildren.

Survived by her daughter, Sheila Kirker; preceded in death is husband, Harold, and son, Ronald; grand children Patrick Kirker, Randall (Sandra) Kirker, Christy Kirker, Deanna (Malcolm) Cleary, Gloria (Michael) Phillips; also preceded in death, Michael Schlagel; great-grandchildren are Keith Cleary, Baillie Kirker, Maggie Cleary, Shayne Philips, Roree Philips, Jessica Kirker.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Crippen Mortuary Chapel between 3pm and 6 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am, Friday, November 11, 2011 at Holy Redeemer Church Montrose, CA. Immediately following will be interment at San Fernando Mission Cemetery.
