Marjorie Lee Rahtz, 90, of Glendale CA passed away on June 27, 2012 at Verdugo Hills Hospital after a long illness. Mom joins her husband Ralph of 63 years in eternal glory. Mom is survived by six of her children; Chris and Linda Raitz of San Clemente, Joan and Jerry Gough of Dustin FL, Frank Rahtz and Anne Fleming of La Crescenta, Tim and Melinda Rahtz of La Crescenta, Beth and Bruce Kelly of Pensacola FL and Doris and Mike Gilchrist of Ventura. Ralph and Marjorie were preceded by the death of their son Andrew Steven Rahtz in 1990. Marjorie enjoyed traveling with Ralph by train to visit her 20 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, knitting and learning to cook and attending mass. Marjorie Lee was born in Cambridge Massachusetts to John and Marjorie (Bunny) MacIntyre. As a child she lived in many parts of the United States but loved Dallas and La Canada the most. In 1946, while working at the USO, she met Ralph who had just left the United States Marine Corps and moved to Los Angeles from Ohio. They fell in love, they married and soon moved to Glendale to raise their expanding family. Marjorie Lee was a member of Holy Redeemer Church and devoted her life to supporting her children and husband.
The Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 2411 Montrose Avenue, Montrose, CA on Thursday, July 5 at 3:30pm. Monsignor Jack Foley is presiding with Father Tony Marti of St. Francis High School and Deacon Ron Baker.
Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Glendale, CA. Cabot and Sons Funeral Home of Pasadena, CA is assisting the family with arrangements. Please call John Cabot at (626) 793-7159 with any questions.
