Assistance League Glendale on Monday provided shorts, pants, underwear, socks and sweatshirts to local schoolchildren who needed a little help this school year.
The organization also gave out coupons for shoes at a local store as well as hygiene kits as part of its annual Operation School Bell effort.
So far this school year, the group has provided clothing to 620 children. In the past, the league has given clothing to more than 800 students in one year.
The organization has six other philanthropies besides Operation School Bell, including one where children's authors and illustrators come to classrooms to enhance students' reading skills and another that gives backpacks filled with items such as toiletries and school supplies to children in foster care.
