Glendale cluster PTA: GHS yearbook available for online purchase
Glendale High School’s 2015 yearbook is now complete, thanks to the work of editors-in-chief Doug Schowengerdt, Laura Tabanyi and Maddie Wills, along with their staff. A yearbook costs $85 and can be purchased online at the school store. The yearbook’s purchase price will increase after the books come in on May 22.
The city of Glendale will celebrate Earth Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 2 in the 200 block of Maryland Place, between Maryland Avenue and Louise Street. There will be activities for the whole family, including workshops, live entertainment and food trucks. This event is free. Call (818) 937-8333 for more information.
Glendale High School
Advanced Placement testing will take place from May 4 to 8 and again from May 11 to 15.
The Pat Navolanic Memorial Award Assembly is scheduled for May 15.
Seniors will be recognized during Senior Awards Night at 6:30 p.m. on May 20 in the John Wayne Performing Arts Center.
Wilson Middle School
The Wilson PTSA will hold a meeting and installation of officers at 6:30 p.m. on May 4. At the meeting, there will be discussion and a vote is expected to be taken on the proposed changes to the Wilson PTSA bylaws. Marshall Elementary School
Marshall’s Mother/Son Bowling Night will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the Montrose Bowl.
The school’s robotics team, called the “Tiger Transformers,” will compete in a tournament at 3 p.m. on May 1 at Roosevelt Middle School.
There will be an open house from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 6 at Marshall.
Also, every Friday in May will be “Kona Ice Truck Day” after school. Special frozen treats cost $4, and customers can create their own flavors. All proceeds will be used to purchase new books for the school library.
Verdugo Woodlands Elementary School
The 2015 Fathers’ Follies will be presented on May 8 and 9.
