Sheriff’s officials are investigating whether three home break-ins reported in La Crescenta last week may be related, officials said.

Last Wednesday morning, a resident returned to her home in the 5300 block of Pineridge Drive to find that her front glass-door window had been broken, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department police report.

Inside, the cabinet drawers in the living room, along with dresser drawers in the downstairs bedroom, had been ransacked, and Social Security cards and passports had been stolen.

Meanwhile, between Wednesday and Friday, a home in the 4300 block of Briggs Avenue was burglarized. Thieves reportedly pried open the patio door and ransacked the home, but what was stolen was still being determined.

On Thursday afternoon, $9,000 in cash was reportedly stolen from a home in the 4600 block of Rosemont Avenue. The burglars may have entered through an unlocked sliding door.
