A 45-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested early Monday after he was allegedly caught with a stolen 1972 Honda motorcycle, police said.

A witness saw Ronald Jackson pushing the motorcycle in the intersection at Kenilworth Avenue and Palm Street at 1:47 a.m. and called authorities, said Tahnee Lightfoot, spokeswoman for the Glendale Police Department.

Jackson dropped the motorcycle and began running after he was spotted by the witness, Lightfoot said.

Upon arrival, police spotted Jackson on South Street and detained him, she said.

Officers contacted the registered owner of the motorcycle, who said it was stolen from in front of his house on Central Avenue, Lightfoot said.

Jackson was arrested on suspicion of grand theft auto.

He is being held on $35,000 bail.
