Police to conduct DUI checkpoint in Glendale

Share

Glendale police officers will conduct a DUI checkpoint from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday at an undisclosed location.

Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment, and they will be checking that motorists have their driver’s license.

Recent statistics show that 30% of drivers in fatal crashes had one or more drugs in their system, police said.

DUI checkpoints are placed in locations based on collision statistics and frequency of DUI arrests, according to police.

Funding for the checkpoint is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
