ST. GEORGE, UT: Robert Emery Lusby, 90, October 26, 2012 in Washington City, Utah. He was born October 09, 1922 in Glendale, California to Charles Raymond Lusby and Gertrude Carrie Wilson. He married Patricia Ann Heydenreich. They later divorced. He married Patricia Fry in Glendale, California on June 11, 1968.
Bob was raised in Glendale, California on Pacific Avenue. He mowed lawns and enjoyed homegrown persimmons and avocados. He grew up fishing. Bob attended R.D. White Elementary (Doran Street School), Toll Junior High, and Hoover High. He attended USC Dental School and practiced dentistry in Glendale for 40 years, where he was beloved by his patients. His father, uncle, brother Don, and two nephews practiced dentistry. His loves included his wife and children, the United States, fishing, boating, backpacking, trips to the cabin near Mammoth, photography, USC football games, waterskiing, volleyball, jogging, working in the yard, See’s Victoria Toffee, Baskin-Robbins Rocky Road ice cream, whole wheat bread, reading World War II literature and Louis L’Amour westerns, helping others, and visits from his grandchildren. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Glendale and attended the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in St. George.
He is survived by his wife: Patricia; children: Donald (Nancy) Lusby (Oakhurst, California), Thomas (Christine) Lusby (La Crescenta, California), Brian Lusby (St. George), Karen (Mark) Lewis (Del Mar, California), and Robin (Duane) Fielding (Washington City); grandchildren: Andrew and Katherine Lusby and Maysen, Taylor, Bodie, and Hodge Fielding; his brother Gerald Raymond. His older brother Donald Wilson (deceased), Bob, and younger brother Jerry all served in World War II, never leaving the U.S.
The family expresses special gratitude for Comfort Cottage and all associated with it for the wonderful care and love he received for the last 1½ years.
Funeral services will be held at Sunset Fifth Ward (750 North 1000 West) in St. George on November 2 at 2 p.m. A viewing will be held at 12:30 p.m.
