Rebels fall to 0-2 on season

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Hart 88, Flintridge Prep 67: Robert Cartwright scored 18 points and Jedrick Eugenio added 15 for the Rebels, who fell to 0-2 in the Crescenta Valley Tournament and on the season Tuesday night.

“It’s our second game and guys still have their football legs,” said Prep Coach Garrett Ohara, who’s team includes several members of the school’s football team that made the second round of the CIF playoffs. “I don’t think were in good condition yet, but we love coming here early in the season because we get tested.”

BOYS’ SOCCER

Crescenta Valley 2, Santa Monica 1: Pablo Sotillo and Matt Ryan each scored one goal Tuesday to spark the visiting Falcons (4-0-1) in a nonleague match.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Louisville 48, Flintridge Prep 26: Tala Ismail finished with nine points and Katherine Bogaard added eight on Tuesday for the Rebels (2-1) in a pool-play game of the Providence Pioneer Shootout.

South Pasadena 50, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 44: Dana Budzyn finished with 16 points and Jenna Tran added 15 on Tuesday for the Tologs (3-3) in a pool-play game of the Pasadena Poly Tournament.

Glendora 34, Hoover 22: Nanor Sevajian notched eight points and four rebounds Tuesday for the Tornadoes, who dropped their season opener in a pool-play contest of the South El Monte Tournament.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 11, St. Joseph’s 7: Hannah Walleck registered seven goals Tuesday to lead the host Tologs to a nonleague win. Flintridge Sacred Heart (2-0) received three goals apiece from Anna Porter and Kelsey Gorman and 15 saves from goalkeeper Elizabeth Hinckley.

La Salle 13, Flintridge Prep 1: Aarin Phillips scored the lone goal Tuesday for the Rebels in a Prep League match at Arcadia County Park. Flintridge Prep fell to 0-2 overall and in league.
