Crescenta Valley in Pacific League tri-meet: The Falcons picked up a pair of victories on Wednesday afternoon at Burroughs High as they defeated Burroughs, 93-43, and Muir, 126-9.
Crescenta Valley (5-1 in league) won 12 of 16 events in the head-to-head with the Indians, which included victories from Megan Melnyk in the 800 meters (2 minutes, 24 seconds) and 1,600 (5:31). Overall, the Falcons dominated the middle and long distances, as Courtney Iannello won the 400 (25.65) and Haley Weitzman claimed the 3,200 (11:54).
“We came out with a goal to compete today and we did that,” Crescenta Valley Coach Mark Evans said. “We have Arcadia coming up and we’re looking forward to a good meet.”

Crescenta Valley in Pacific League tri-meet: The Falcons split action at Wednesday afternoon’s Pacific League Meet at Burroughs High with Burroughs and Muir.
While the Falcons notched an impressive 111-23 win over the Mustangs, they were also defeated by the Indians, 85-51.
The results move the Falcons’ league mark to 4-2.
Naval Academy-bound distance runner Gabe Collison led his squad to wins in the 1,600 meters (4:23) and 3,200 meters (9:27), while Nick Beatty won the 800 (1:59).
“It was a tough day,” said Falcons senior Matt Manalo, who competed in three events. “But you just have to compete.”
St. Francis 196, Crespi 233: Stian Lindvedt carded a two-over-par 37 on Wednesday to earn medalist honors and help the visiting Golden Knights pick up a Mission League win at Braemar Country Club. Michael Finney had a 38 and Johnny Brandt added a 39 for St. Francis, which improved to 6-4, 5-3 in league.
Glendale 13, Marshall Fundamental 5: The host Nitros (8-3) registered a nonleague victory Wednesday, winning all nine doubles sets. Glendale received sweeps from Mike Akopians and Davit Ismailian (6-2-, 6-0, 6-0), Mheir Krikorian and David Casaburi (6-0, 6-0, 6-0) and Matt Davidian and Artiom Ambartsoumian (6-2, 6-0, 7-6(10-8).
