Sports Roundup: Crescenta Valley High girls’ basketball blasts Hoover

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Crescenta Valley 52, Hoover 27: Alisa Shinn finished with nine points and Ella Stepanian added eight points and eight rebounds Tuesday to lead the host Falcons to a Pacific League victory.

Crescenta Valley improved to 14-6, 5-1 in league.

Hoover (4-7, 2-4) received nine points and five rebounds from Nairi Sevajian and six points and seven rebounds from Nanor Sevajian.

Pasadena Armenian General Benevolent Union 47, Holy Family 35: Tabitha Ruiz collected 12 points Tuesday for the visiting Gaels (3-14) in a nonleague contest.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Crescenta Valley 4, Hoover 0: The Falcons’ collected their fifth league shutout with Tuesday’s home win.

Hannah Weingarten scored two goals, while Grace Keller had two assists.

Kelsey Boller and Courtney Iannello also had goals and Ani Hemelians added an assist for Crescenta Valley (4-6-1, 4-1-1).

The Tornadoes fell to 2-4 in league.

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 1, Gabrielino 0: The Tologs collected a nonleague win on Monday at Occidental College.

Improving to 8-4-1, the Tologs were propelled to victory by a goal from Heather Turcios in the 11th minute, as she was assisted by Casey Basso and Miranda Spears.

Goalie Dani Garcia had three saves in the shutout.

Burbank 5, Glendale 0: The visiting Nitros fell Tuesday in a Pacific League match and are 0-5 in league.
