Sports Roundup: Crescenta Valley High baseball rolls to win

Crescenta Valley 11, Burbank 0: Falcon pitchers Brian Gadsby and Tanner Carrico combined to strike out eight and scatter two hits in a Pacific League road contest Tuesday. Bryan Wang had three hits for Crescenta Valley (16-7-1, 9-1-1) and drove in two runs. Michael Russo had three hits and drove in five runs for the Falcons, who got a home run from Joe Torres.

Arcadia 5, Glendale 4: The Nitros lost a heartbreaker Tuesday in a Pacific League road contest. Arcadia got a three-run home run with two outs in the seventh inning.

The Nitros (7-14-1, 4-7 in league) received two hits apiece from Thad Wilson and Ryan Wong. Ethan Howard pitched 6 1/3 innings for the Nitros.

Pasadena 3, Hoover 0: Host Hoover suffered a Pacific League defeat Tuesday. The Tornadoes dropped to 11-10, 4-7 in league.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Burbank 3, Glendale 0: The Nitros fell, 26-24, 25-18, 25-12, on Tuesday in a Pacific League match.

St. Francis 3, Chaminade 2: The visiting Golden Knights picked up a 18-25, 25-13, 14-25, 25-16, 15-8 Mission League victory Monday. David Thompson had 51 assists and Thomas Lund added 18 kills for the Golden Knights. St. Francis (4-8 in league) also got nine kills apiece from Markar Agakanian, Mark Munoz and AJ Krappman.
