Three arrested after probation check

A probation-compliance check last week led to the arrest of three people allegedly in possession of narcotics, according to police.

At 8:45 p.m. on May 29, detectives from the Glendale Police Department’s AB109 Task Force conducted a random search at the home of Tony Kadzhabashian, who is currently on probation on weapons charges, in the 600 block of East Lomita Avenue, said police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot.

There was also a warrant out for his arrest, she said.

During a search of the property, detectives found drug paraphernalia, a black substance resembling heroin, numerous dextroamphetamine pills and two rounds of 9-millimeter ammunition, Lightfoot said.

A convicted felon, Kadzhabashian is prohibited from owning weapons.

Two boxes of Serostim, a steroid, were found in a small refrigerator, Lightfoot said. It was later confirmed that the Serostim was reported stolen, along with a gym bag, from a Gold’s Gym in Hollywood in January, she added.

Kadzhabashian was taken into custody on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, Lightfoot said. Two other people, Exsayana Briseida Sanchez, 20, and Chris Troy Mahrouk, 29, were also at the residence and arrested on drug charges.

Kadzhabashian faced an additional charge of illegally possessing ammunition.

The AB109 Task Force works to monitor recently released inmates.
