Three arrested in connection with board shop burglary

Police arrested three suspects in connection with a burglary at a Montrose board shop last week.

On July 5 at about 3:15 a.m., Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies from the Crescenta Valley station responded to an apartment in the 2200 block of Honolulu after receiving a call that a male -- a 17-year-old Montrose resident – was possibly under the influence of drugs, according to a statement from the Glendale Police Department.

During the investigation, the deputies located a box with skateboards and shoes that appeared to be possibly stolen items, according to the statement

Two other suspects – 18-year-old Mark Samuels, a Palmdale resident, and 18-year-old Kijohn Combs, a Pasadena resident, were also detained in the area and were in possession of two skateboards, a box and a hat that still had a bar code attached, the statement said.

Officers from the Glendale Police Department then drove to Billy’s Board Shop, located at 2227 Honolulu Avenue and confirmed the business had been broken into, with a window smashed with what appeared to be a brick, according to the report.

The owner of the business was contacted and confirmed the items recovered were in fact stolen from Billy’s Board Shop.

All three suspects were placed under arrest by Glendale police officers and charged with burglary.

Further details are pending investigation by detectives.
