Woman robbed at downtown ATM
A 48-year-old Glendale woman who was making a bank deposit was robbed Thursday night after a man told her “get out of the way” because her account was his, police said.
The woman was completing a transaction at an ATM in the Bank of America in the 200 block of North Glendale Avenue when she noticed the man pacing near her, according to Glendale police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot.
He reportedly moved closer and told her the account and ATM belonged to him. After the man told her to move out of the way, she walked away without closing her account, Lightfoot said.
He allegedly withdrew $700 from the woman’s bank account. The man fled in what possibly was a dark sedan.
The man was described as African American, with a large build, in his 30s, and wearing dark clothing.
