‘I accept your nomination’ — here are the words candidates use in their convention speeches

Words like “our,” “America” and “your” consistently rank among the most used words in the speeches made by the major party candidates at their conventions. To see how similar, or different, this year’s candidates were from the past, we analyzed Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton's acceptance speeches compared to all Republican and Democratic presidential candidates since 1980. Trump stands out for his use of the terms “violence,” “terror(ist)” and “trade.” Clinton used “work/working” and “we/we're” far more than other Democrats or Republicans.
