Come see author of “Dreams of Joy,’ ‘Shanghai Girls’

Best-selling author Lisa See is to appear for a lecture and book signing at the Newport Beach Public Library on Sept. 13

The author of the best-sellers and acclaimed novels “Shanghai Girls,” “Snow Flower and the Secret Fan,” “Peony in Love,” and Edgar Award-nominated “Flower Net,” is scheduled to appear at the Central Library branch, 1000 Avocado Ave., as part of the Newport Beach Library Foundation’s “Library Live” series.

At 7 p.m. she will give a talk and then take questions about her newest novel, “Dreams of Joy,” a sequel to “Shanghai Girls,” foundation officials announced in a news release. The book signing will follow at 8 p.m.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The event is free but seats will be first-come, first-served, and foundation officials suggest a $10-donation at the door.
