Easter Seals Fundraiser

O.C. Historical Society

Historian Chris Jepsen will give a talk about the former Pacific Beach Club, a club located between Newport Beach and Huntington Beach that catered to African-Americans in the 1920s, when blacks were barred from Los Angeles beaches. The 7:30 p.m. talk at the Sherman Library & Gardens, 2467 E. Pacific Coast Hwy., is free and open to the public. Event will begin at 6:30 p.m., with potluck appetizers and desserts.

Cover Me Badd Karaoke

The city of Costa Mesa will hold a free brown-bag workshop on housing options for the homeless, from noon to 1:30 p.m., in the Police Department Emergency Operations Center, 99 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa.

9/11 Remembrance

Irvine Valley College will mark the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks with a noon to 12:30 p.m. program in the campus’ Performing Arts Center, 5500 Irvine Center Drive. Speakers will include O.C. Sheriff Sandra Hutchens and Irvine Police Chief David Maggard Jr. Free parking in Lot 5 between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Friday Night Shabbat

Hommage to The Dude

The opening reception for “Joe Forkan — The Lebowski Cycle,” a painting exhibit, is from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion, Orange Coast College, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa.
