SPIN Benefit

Wine and Cheese Pairing Party will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wine Lab Newport to benefit SPIN, an Orange County group that supports homeless people and the working poor with housing and other issues. The Memorial Highway

Jewish Justices

Amy Hirshberg Lederman — an author, columnist and lawyer — will give a presentation about Jews who served as justices of the U.S. Supreme Court. OCC Transfer Day

Orange Coast College Transfer Day takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the campus quad at OCC, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa. Representatives from as many as 66 colleges and universities will be on hand at the free event, which will be open to the public.

Museum Excursion

Newport Beach Arts Commission is organizing a daylong trip to the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena. Chartered bus will leave at 9:30 a.m. from the parking lot at the Newport Beach Central Library branch, 1000 Avocado Ave., and return from Pasadena around 4 p.m. Tickets cost $75 and include bus ride, lunch, and private tour of the Norton Simon. Boat Show

The 10th annual Festival of Children — a month-long family oriented event featuring live music, dance performances, arts and crafts, and more — returns to South Coast Plaza. ‘A Year of Dreaming

Dangerously’

Orange Coast College is hosting “Alex’s Adventures in the Five Rivers” or “A Year of Dreaming Dangerously,” a new exhibit of work by Arthur Taussig, a former OCC film and photography professor. The exhibit is on the second floor of the Art Center, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa. The works are inspired by Dante’s “Divine Comedy.” The exhibit has various operating hours and admission is free.
