The film is about "an 80+ year-old Kenyan freedom fighter's attempt to get the free education promised by joining a class of first-graders despite the opposition of parents and officials," according to a news release from the society. It is considered to be a possible underdog favorite for an Academy Award nomination.

South Coast Cinema is at 162 S. Coast Hwy.
An afternoon of milk, cookies and art
It's an art show that kids will find simply delicious.
"Milk & Cookies: The Story Tellers" will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach.
Put on by Active Ride Shop, clothing line Mini & Maximus (MIMA) and Laguna's AR4T Gallery, the event includes arts and crafts, an art auction, live music and, obviously, milk and cookies.
MIMA artists and their kids have created new art to be auctioned off, with proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Club.
Also, the winners will be announced for MIMA and Active's "Art Tees by Kids for Kids Contest." Winners get $100 donated in their name to the club, and their artwork will be featured on T-shirts that will be sold by Active next summer.
The Boys & Girls Club is at 1085 Laguna Canyon Road.

Highlights of the evening will include an audience sing-along and a candlelight procession, according to the release.
For the finale, the men of the AABC Alumni Chorus will join the boys for a performance for "Silent Night."
