Beekeeper Speaks at Garden Club

Film Society Series

The Laguna Beach Film Society’s four-month-long documentary series “The Earth’s Sustainability in Film,” begins at 7 p.m. at the Forum Theatre. Two films will be shown: “Garbage Warrior” and “Plastic Tide.” Tickets are $15 at the door.

Fujiko Signs Speaks

“The Lord’s Prayer and Healing,” will be presented at a free public lecture at 3 p.m. at the Christian Science church at 635 High Drive, Laguna Beach. Fujiko Signs, an authorized teacher of Christian Science, a practitioner and lecturer, will speak.

Sunday

Mystery Authors

Laguna Beach Books will host mystery authors Elizabeth George and T. Jefferson Parker at noon at the Aliso Creek Inn, 31106 S. Coast Hwy. Tickets are limited. Support Group Meeting

A monthly support group for families with youth who struggle with addictions is from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at 303 Broadway, Suite 107. A team of recovery caregivers will offer up help, hope and education in dealing with this issue.

Discussion Groups

Great Decisions Discussion Groups are starting up again, co-sponsored by the League of Women voters and the Social Action Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Laguna Beach. Eight topics will be discussed this year, with meetings on the first, third and fifth Tuesday of the month. Jazz Wednesdays

The Jazz Wednesdays Winter Series kicks off in the Laguna Room of Hotel Laguna at 6 p.m. Cost is $12 with an online and season subscription discounted for early bird buyers. ‘Queen to Play’

The Laguna Beach Film Society will screen “Queen to Play,” a French comedy that “likens chess strategies with the seductive moves between a woman and a man The film stars Kevin Kline. Family Concert

SEEDS Art and Education Inc. hosts a family concert at 6:30 p.m. at the Anneliese School’s Willowbrook Campus, 200062 Laguna Canyon Road, Laguna Beach. Church Works With East African Partnership

The Clippers group at Laguna Presbyterian Church will host Dr. Colette Cozean, a key leader for the East African Partnership, for an African-style dinner and discussion at 6:30 p.m. at the church’s Tankersley Hall, 415 Forest Ave. Tickets are $15. Opera Tenor Concert

Stephen Fischman, an opera-trained tenor, will perform a concert of songs and tenor arias at 7 p.m. in Fellowship Hall of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Laguna Beach, 429 Cypress Drive. Music will be sung in English and Italian. Admission is $15.

Folkdance Festival

Dance around the world with live and recorded music at the 42nd annual Laguna Beach Folkdance Festival at Ensign School Gym, 2000 Cliff Drive, Newport Beach. Master teachers Michael Ginsburg and Jerry Duke will lead workshops in dances of the Balkans and Americas. The festival kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 3 with a dance party.
