With your help, Community Animal Network was able to help the "eyelash kittens" with a procedure that cost nearly $3,000, when other rescues turned them away.
It was necessary for the kittens' eyes to mature before Eye Care for Animals could correct the backward lashes that rubbed on their corneas. Gel applied three times a day kept their eyes comfortable, but sadly, one kitten lost an eye due to an uncontrollable eye infection upon rescue.
We handed out and mailed fliers and published repeatedly in order to get the funds. Now the kittens have cool names — Oakley and Maui Jim, named after sunglasses.
