Grand Opening Party

Rebecca Taylor celebrates the opening of its store at Fashion Island with a party from 6 to 8 p.m. During those hours, shoppers can enjoy discounts of 10%. A portion of proceeds from sales during the evening will benefit the Junior League of Orange County, a local nonprofit.

MFA Show Opening

'Whither Japan'

The Newport Beach Sister City Assn. presents "Whither Japan," a lecture about Japan's social, demographic, economic and political future by Stephen M. Harner, a Newport Beach, Tokyo and Shanghai resident who now blogs about Japan. 'The Borrowers'
