Bluffs Garage Sale

The Bluffs Homeowners semi-annual garage sale is at 8 a.m. The sale will happen at homes off Vista del oro and side streets from Vista del Sol to Eastbluff near Corona del Mar High School.

Balboa Island Parade

The 19th annual Balboa Island Parade, sponsored by the Balboa Island Homeowners Assn., kicks off at 11 a.m. on Marine Avenue. The bridge to the island closes at 10:30 a.m.

Support Youth Work Team

The Youth Work Team from Mesa Verde United Methodist Church invites you to support team members by dining in or ordering take-at the Newport Beach Rib Co. in order to help raise funds for their summer work project in Susanville, Calif. Twenty percent of sales on take-out, ordered between 10:30 a.m. and 9 p.m., and during dine-in hours from noon to 9 p.m., will go toward the Youth Work Team's project to help elderly people through the summer project. Aerial Fitness Demo Day

Kim Phuc

Kim Phuc, who was pictured fleeing the scene of a June 1972 napalm air strike in South Vietnam in the Pulitzer Prize-winning photo by Nick Ut of the Associated Press, will make an Orange County appearance at Liberty Baptist Church, 1000 Bison Ave., Newport Beach, where she will be talking about her experience. Transit of Venus

The Orange Coast College Astronomy Club will be setting up solar telescopes near the OCC Planetarium so that people can view the transit of Venus. The best time to view the transit is between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m., and the telescopes will stay up until 8 p.m. OCC is at 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa.

Woody's Wharf and friends will host "Do the Right," an auction in memory of Kirk Howe to benefit Jenny and Jillian Howe.
