Pet of the Week

Phila is a 7-year-old Shih Tzu mix, recently found as a stray.

The word Phila means "love" in Greek, and how could you not love this sweet girl? She appears well-cared for, and her calm temperament makes it even more puzzling that somehow she lost her home.

Phila is housetrained, not a barker, and easy to walk. While seemingly fine around other dogs, she is equally happy on her own.

Phila is healthy and will be spayed prior to adoption. Please help her find a loving home to match her name.

Phila's adoption fees are discounted 25% all week when you mention this announcement.

With cooler weather ahead, the shelter welcomes donations of washable blankets and towels to warm pets in their kennels. Double-sided dog and cat bowls are also needed.

Come see Phila at the Orange County Humane Society, 21632 Newland St., Huntington Beach. For more information, call (714) 536-8480 or visit
