Princess is a three-year-old poodle mix. She is affectionate with people and friendly with other dogs and eager to go for walks — with one ear always pricked up to hear everything and the other flopping along for the ride.

However, her recent experience has not been that of a fairy-tale princess. When surrendered by her owner in a move that precluded keeping a pet, this bouncy little girl arrived at the shelter to seek a happier new chapter in her young life. Princess is not your classic beauty, and her scruffy coat would benefit from grooming, but her lively personality is what charms you.

She will be spayed before adoption but is otherwise healthy — and awaiting a loving home.
