The Festival of Arts is accepting applications for its juried fine art show next July and August.

Interested artists are requested to submit a CD with three digital images per media and a completed application form to 650 Laguna Canyon Road by 4 p.m. Oct. 25.

Residents from Aliso Viejo, Capistrano Beach, Coto de Caza, Costa Mesa, Dana Point, Foothill Ranch, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Ladera Ranch, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest (El Toro), Mission Viejo, Monarch Beach, Newport Beach, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano can apply, but they need to provide proof of one year’s residence. Jurying fees are $50 per medium submitted.

The Laguna Playhouse presents “Fallen Angels” as the second show of its 2013-2014 season.

The show, written by Noel Coward and directed by Art Manke, comes to Laguna Beach close on the heels of a run at Pasadena Playhouse.

“We are thrilled to present this brilliant and wickedly fun production to our subscribers and audiences, and we know they will leave our theater as charmed by this production as we are,” artistic director Ann Wareham said in a release.

Previews begin Oct. 8; the show runs from Oct. 12 to Nov. 3 at 606 Laguna Canyon Road.

Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Additional screenings will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 10, 7 p.m. Oct. 13 and Oct. 20, and 2 p.m. Oct. 24 and Oct. 31.

Tickets range from $36 to $66.

The venue is also hosting auditions for “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” scheduled to be run from Nov. 8 to 17 at the Moulton Theatre.

Tryouts for actor/singers ages 12 and older will be hosted from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 27 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Boys and Girls Club at Laguna Beach. Auditions are by appointment only; callbacks will be organized from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 29.

Attendees are requested to prepare a 1 1/2 minute contemporary monologue and musical theater song to be sung a cappella, with 16 to 24 bars memorized. Standard show tunes and accompaniment CD tracks are permitted.

Children ages 9 through 17 can also sign up for Youth Theatre classes from Sept. 24 to Dec. 13.

Acting Fundamentals, for students ages 9 to 11, meets Tuesdays at the Women’s Club in Laguna Beach. Musical Theatre, for ages 9 and older, meets Fridays at the Laguna Playhouse. Both classes present a showcase at the end of the session.

Admission ranges from $200 to $225.

The Sawdust Art Festival voted in its new Board of Directors for the 2013-14 fiscal year Aug. 27.

The new board convened its first official meeting Sept. 4 at the Healy House, on the festival grounds.

President Rachel Goberman, Vice President Michael Thorstensen, Secretary Sue Thompson, Treasurer Cindy Stalnaker, Jay Grant, Gavin Heath, Dennis Junka, Mike Kelly and Tracey Moscaritolo received votes from more than 200 members.
