Gallery to host annual reception

Cove Gallery, located at 1492 S. Coast Hwy., Laguna Beach, will host its annual spring reception from 5 to 8 p.m. April 26.

This year’s theme is “Swing into Spring,” and features artists include Jacquelyn Blue, Bill Knauer, Sheryl Sauer and JoAnne Unger.

Guests can enter their names into a raffle for a free $300 painting by any of the exhibitors. The winner must be present at 7:30 p.m., the time of the drawing.

The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day except Tuesday.

Craft guild holding event

Local artists will present the Laguna Craft Guild on April 13 and 27.

Hosted at the Main Beach cobblestones, the event, exhibiting original arts and crafts, will last from 9 a.m. till dusk.

Short movies on show at art museum

The Laguna Beach Film Society is slated to screen Oscar-nominated short films on April 17.

Presented at 7 p.m. at the Laguna Art Museum, the event will be preceded by a reception at 6 p.m.

Animated films like “Mr. Hublot” and “Feral” will be shown along with live-action movies including “Helium” and “That Wasn’t Me.”

Admission is free for members, $7 for non-members and $5 for students and seniors.

For $20, guests will also be treated to wine and a pre-screening buffet at the museum, located at 307 Cliff Drive.
