2 injured in Newport Beach crash involving UCI bus
Two people were sent to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries Wednesday night after a crash in Newport Beach involving an SUV and a UC Irvine bus, authorities said.
The crash occurred at about 10 p.m. at the intersection of Bristol Street and Irvine Avenue, according to Newport Beach police.
The SUV driver and a student who was one of four people in the bus were taken to a hospital. No other injuries were reported.
The intersection was closed until midnight while police investigated the cause of the crash. It appeared the SUV had gone through a red light, police said.
