UCI ASSISTANT BOLTS

UC Irvine assistant men’s basketball coach Terry Boesel announced his resignation to become associate athletic director at Chapman University. Boesel was an assistant to UC Irvine Coach Pat Douglass for the past three seasons.

“Terry is a loyal, tireless worker, very professional and extremely well-organized on and off the court,” Douglass said in a press release. “He played a big hand in helping us land one of the best recruiting classes we’ve had since my time here.” Boesel was previously the head coach at the University of La Verne for five years. He also was an assistant coach at the University of San Diego and Chapman.

HESS EARNS PRAISE

Newport Beach resident Brad Hess, a freshman at Brethren Christian High in Huntington Beach, earned honorable mention in All-Academy League voting done by the circuit’s baseball coaches. Hess pitched, played shortstop, catcher and left field for the Warriors.
