Bioethics lecture to discuss conflicts of interest

UC Irvine’s bioethics lecture series returns for its 17th year Thursday with Howard Brody of The Institute for the Medical Humanities in Texas discussing, “Conflict of Interest in the Academic Medical Center: Is it a Problem?”

The lecture is part of the Howard A. Schneiderman Memorial Bioethics Lecture Series that brings prominent experts to UCI every year to speak about social and ethical repercussions of advances in biology and medicine.

The lecture is free to the public and is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Arnold and Mabel Beckam Center of the National Academies of Sciences and Engineering at UCI.
