A pair of related articles in Tuesday’s Daily Pilot contained some errors. The first article, “Flores: Felt obligated to act,” should not have quoted Estancia High School Principal Kirk Bauermeister as saying that teacher Joel Flores keeps his political beliefs out of the classroom. Bauermeister did not say that.

The second article, “Mensinger: Criticisms not fair,” should have said that Councilman Steve Mensinger was a former president of Pop Warner Football and that he worked for the Bethany Management Group until 2007, not 2009. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2009.

In addition, the text above Wednesday’s story “Newport-Mesa Unified could face millions in cuts,” should have read “Possible $17 Million Loss.”
