COSTA MESA — Jewels take center stage at South Coast Plaza this month with the reopening of Cartier and the modeling of the $2.5-million jewel-studded Fantasy bra at the newly remodeled Victoria’s Secret, according to a news release.

The expanded Cartier reopens Nov. 22. The boutique, on the second floor near Macy’s, expanded from 2,831 square feet to 6,008 square feet, establishing the boutique, which specializes in watches and other upscale items, as the largest Cartier store in the nation.

Victoria’s Secret also plans to reopen a newly remodeled boutique in the Sears wing Nov. 17. Victoria’s Secret Angel Miranda Kerr will visit the shop from noon to 2 p.m. Nov 29.

High-end fashion retailer Salvatore Ferragamo is set to debut a jewelry collection this month. A new product for Salvatore Ferragamo, the jewelry line was designed in collaboration with Gianni Bulgari and includes gold and silver bracelets, earrings, pendants, rings and semi-precious stones.

In other shopping center events this month, a lighting ceremony of the 96-foot Christmas tree will take place at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 17 and will be accompanied by musical entertainment. Santa will arrive the following day for family photo opportunities, said shopping center spokeswoman Katherine Nguyen.
