Share

The Girl Scouts of Orange County will honor 12 of its alumnae and 12 current Girl Scouts at its third annual Celebrate Leadership Gala on Friday at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach.

The event, which is anticipated to have more than 400 Orange County business and community members in attendance, aims to raise $300,000 to support Girl Scout leadership development programs. The funds will also aide the training of 10,000 adult volunteers.

“Girl Scouts has played a critical role in shaping the lives of the majority of our nation and our community’s female business and community leaders,” said Nancy Nygren, chief executive of Girl Scouts of Orange County. “Our Celebrate Leadership Gala provides us the opportunity to honor 12 outstanding local leaders, all Girl Scout alumnae, and pair them with 12 extraordinary local Girl Scouts, connecting the leaders of today with the leaders of tomorrow. This year’s honorees are truly leading the way for others through their unique vision, remarkable drive and commitment to giving back.”
