Free clinic hosting event Saturday

The Lestonnac Free Clinic is hosting a countywide medical event featuring health and dental care at no cost from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Services will be provided along with children’s activities, live music and the distribution of clothes at Lighthouse Church, 1885 Anaheim Ave., Costa Mesa.

Lestonnac Free Medical Clinic was established in 1979 with a focus on providing care for local families that can’t afford health insurance. It is partnering with the Coalition of Orange County Community Health Centers, Mariners Church, Stanbridge College and St. Verena Health Center for Saturday’s event.

“There is no county hospital or public primary healthcare system in Orange County,” Executive Director Ed Gerber said in a news release. “With the current state of the economy, providing these types of outreach events is vital to the health and well-being of the low-income residents of this county.”
