Margaret MacQueen Collins
1923 – 2013
Our beautiful mother, Margaret MacQueen Collins, passed away April 21, 2013 in Newport Beach, California.
She was born in Los Angeles, California on October 29, 1923 to Ruth and Bruce MacQueen. A third generation Californian, Margaret lived briefly in Fresno after her marriage and the birth of her children.
Margaret moved to Newport Beach in 1959 and worked for Newport Balboa Savings and Loan. She continued her work as an escrow officer in Orange County until retirement in 1992.
Having spent some of the happiest years of her young life with her family in the Eastern Sierra, Margaret moved to Carson City, Nevada where she lived until 2006 and was a member of the St. Teresa of Avila Parish. After a short time in Reno, she moved back to Orange County and resided at Costa Neuporte until her death.
Margaret is survived by her daughters Carolin Collins Doran (Jack) and Sally Collins Emsley (Bill), her sister Helen Warren, granddaughters Kate and Sarah, four great grandchildren, Jack, Mariana, Doran, and Audrey, niece and nephew Carrie and Michael.
A memorial service will be held in Carson City, Nevada at a later date.
