Police taking tips for Special Olympics

Costa Mesa police will be acting as servers this week collecting tips to donate to the Special Olympics, officials announced.

Between 5 and 9 p.m. Thursday police are expected to act as servers at South Coast Plaza's Claim Jumper collecting tips for the Special Olympics and selling raffle tickets for prizes from local vendors, according to an announcement from the department.

Raffle prizes range from gift baskets from Crate & Barrel and Saks Fifth Avenue to gift cards to Mastro's and Seasons 52 will be handed out among other prizes.
