Volunteers needed for Costa Mesa’s 60th anniversary

Costa Mesa’s upcoming birthday bash needs volunteers — 100 of them.

City officials sent out a notice Friday for help with the 60th anniversary street festival, which takes place June 28 to 30 along Fair Drive between Newport Boulevard and Fairview Road. There will also be street closures for that half-mile section of Fair between June 27 and July 1. Volunteers will be tasked with manning booths for check-ins, information, tickets and merchandise, as well as some crowd control help and cleanup.

They’ll also be needed to help the 60th anniversary booth that will be at various community events before the festival.

The event will feature music on multiple stages, a “tastefest” with foods from local restaurants, classic car show, art walk and children’s zone.
