Donna Carpenter August 12, 1927 - September 27, 2013

Donna Mary Carpenter [86], passed away on September 27, 2013 at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, CA. She was born on August 12, 1927, in Mankato, Minnesota to father Earl and mother, Mary Little. Donna grew up in Los Angeles, CA.

After High School

- Donna attended Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, CA where she rceived a degree in education.

- Donna began work for the Lawndale School District, moving to the Newport Mesa a School district

- Donna taught for Monte Vista School, Bayview School and Anderson Elementary School, specializing in Kinderdarten education. She retired after 32 years.

Donna married NormCarpenter in 1950 In Los Angeles, CA. They were happily married for 50 years. Donna was a member of the Newport Beach Yacht Club, Catalina Island Yacht Club, The Apple Street Cloggers and St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed Clogging, Boating, Catalina Island on her beloved Teacher’s Pet and volunteering in Elementary School and Sunday School education involvement with MOPS (Mothers of Pre Schoolers) along with lunching and dining with her girlfriends and daily socializing with her Kean Coffee-Guys.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband Norm, parents Anna and Earl Little and sister Ruth Sullivan.

Donna is survived by her son Douglas Carpenter, daughter in law Holly, grandchildren Grant & Jillian of Long Beach, CA.; her brother Earl Little of Moab Utah; and her niece Claudia Scotland of Cerritos, CA.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Newport Beach Yacht Club; 1099 Bayside Drive, Newport Beach, CA. 92660 at 12:00pm on Saturday October 5, 2013. (949) 760-0221. A private family burial will precede the Celebration of Life Service at Pacific View Park & Mortuary in Corona del Mar.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to MOPS (Mothers of Pre Schoolers) at MOPS International, Inc. 2370 South Trenton Way Denver, CO 80231-3822.
