Newport police search for burglary suspect
Newport Beach police are looking for a man they believe is responsible for attempting to burglarize a home in the 700 block of Malabar Drive, authorities said.
The suspect is Caucasian or Latino, about 5 feet, 10 inches and 200 pounds with a shaved head and dark mustache.
On the morning of Oct. 10, police believe the man removed a screen door from the rear of a Newport Beach home and used an unknown tool to pry open the sliding door, according to a news release.
The suspect did not take any property and was likely interrupted by the resident returning home, the release stated.
