Key Chargers: Sr. RB/OLB Mike Walters (102 carries for 491 yards and 15 TDs; four catches for 16 yards; one passing TD; 77 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss and three forced fumbles); Jr. QB Braeden Boyles (91 of 159 passing for 1,406 yards, 16 TDs and six INTs; 42 carries for 291 yards and two TDs); Sr. WR/FS Cole Koffler (30 catches for 721 yards and nine TDs); Sr. TE/DE Trent Fletcher (69 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, six sacks and one fumble recovery)

Breakdown: Edison (7-3) begins the CIF Southern Section Division 3 playoffs by hosting Romoland Heritage (7-3) ... The Chargers finished the regular season playing well, finishing second in the Sunset League after notching three straight blowout wins over Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley and Newport Harbor ... Edison scored a season-high 57 points in last week’s 57-7 win over Newport Harbor, in which Boyles threw for 156 yards and three touchdowns. Jack Kosick had six catches for 154 yards and two scores ... Edison will be trying for its first playoff victory since 2017. The Chargers lost 22-15 at San Juan Hills last year in the first round of the Division 2 playoffs ... Heritage was the runner-up in the Ivy League to Moreno Valley Rancho Verde. The Patriots lost 44-0 to Rancho Verde last week, snapping a six-game winning streak ... Like Edison, Heritage also lost in the first round of the Division 2 playoffs last year, 17-16 at Upland ... The winner of Friday’s game plays either La Habra or Capistrano Valley in the quarterfinals.
