Breakdown: Top-seeded Corona del Mar (12-0) travels to play No. 4-seeded Mission Hills Alemany (9-2) in a CIF Southern Section Division 3 semifinal game Friday at Father Milbauer Stadium ... CdM’s prolific offense continued to produce in last week’s 42-14 quarterfinal win over San Bernardino Cajon, the 11th time in 12 games that the Sea Kings have scored at least 42 points ... Garbers’ school-record 58 touchdown passes are tied for second in the Southern Section this year and are the third-most in Orange County history. Mater Dei’s JT Daniels threw 67 touchdowns in 2016, as did Western’s Anthony Muñoz in 2018. Only Jared Heywood of Inglewood has thrown more touchdown passes in the section this year, with 60 ... Alemany, which finished third in the Mission League, beat Tesoro 47-28 in the quarterfinals last week. Moss threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns and Chalk added 19 carries for 196 yards and three more scores ... The Warriors moved down a division this year after losing to Moreno Valley Rancho Verde in the Division 2 quarterfinals in 2018 ... CdM, the Division 4 runner-up in 2016 and 2018, can make its third section final in four years with a win. Second-seeded Simi Valley Grace Brethren (11-1) hosts No. 3 La Habra (10-2) in the other semifinal Friday at Simi Valley Royal High.
