College Roundup: UC Irvine men’s golf tied for fourth in Sacramento State Invitational

The UC Irvine men’s golf team moved up three spots in the standings during the second round on Monday in the Sacramento State Invitational at Valley Hi Country Club in Elk Grove.

After the second round of the tournament, the Anteaters are tied with Cal State Northridge for fourth place with 607 strokes as a team.

The Anteaters improved upon their first-round performance by 17 strokes to surge up the leaderboard.

Senior Jonathan Kang (tied for eighth, 149) and senior Anthony Truong (tied for 10th, 150) each have six birdies through the first two rounds for UCI.

The final round takes place on Tuesday.

WOMEN’S GOLF

UC Irvine entered the clubhouse in sixth place after the first two rounds of the Gunrock Invitational on Monday at Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento.

Madison Riggs carded two rounds of 78 (tied for 20th, 156) to lead the Anteaters, who concluded the action with a 36-hole total of 629 strokes.

Sienna Lyford (tied for 24th, 157) and Angela Bagasbas (tied for 29th, 158) are also among the top 30.
