High School Roundup: Edison boys’ soccer defeats Fountain Valley

The Edison High boys’ soccer team got first-half goals from Steven Garcia and Trenton Bellinger in beating Fountain Valley 2-1 on Monday in a nonleague match at home.

Luke Slavik and Fin Roghair each had an assist for Edison (2-1), which plays at Marina in another Sunset Conference crossover match on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Sebastian Rus scored the goal for Fountain Valley (2-1).

BOYS’ TENNIS

Corona del Mar 12, Northwood 6: Jack Cross and Scott Thompson swept in doubles for the Sea Kings in Monday’s nonleague match at Corona del Mar High.

Max Krykunenko swept in singles for the Sea Kings, who play at Laguna Beach in a Sunset Conference crossover match Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Laguna Beach 11, Los Alamitos 7: Ian MacLaughlin won twice in singles for the Breakers in Monday’s Sunset Conference crossover match at Los Alamitos High.

Casey Boehm and Matt Berk won twice in doubles for Laguna Beach (3-0).
