Breakdown: Edison is the visiting team in the 51st edition of the Battle for the Bell rivalry game against Fountain Valley. The Chargers have won the past 13 meetings with the Barons and lead the series 35-14-1 … Edison is tied for third place in the Sunset League with Huntington Beach at 2-1, while Fountain Valley shares fifth with Newport Harbor at 0-3. Corona del Mar and Los Alamitos are atop the league at 2-0-1. With a win, the Chargers, who are 4-4 overall, will most likely clinch a berth into the CIF Southern Section Division 2 playoffs … Fountain Valley has struggled since the death of assistant coach Scott Panique in September, losing four in a row to fall to 4-4 overall … Last week, Edison used sophomore Jacob Hanlon at quarterback, along with sophomore Braeden Boyles, who took over as the starter after senior Patrick Angelovic broke his collarbone in a 33-14 nonleague win at San Juan Hills on Sept. 7 … The Barons are ranked No. 10 in the Division 8 poll.
