NEWPORT BEACH — Senior outside hitter Cody Caldwell recorded a season-high 39 kills and only had five errors to go with 10 digs and four blocks in the Sailors’ 25-23, 22-25, 25-19, 25-22 Sunset League match Thursday

Kevin Rakestraw contributed 13 kills and nine blocks for Newport Harbor (13-6, 4-0 in league).

Ian Sequeira had 51 assists, eight digs, three blocks and two kills.

Rusty Sary had 12 kills and six digs.

SANTA ANA — Jim Nelson had six kills for Estancia in the Orange Coast League match that Calvary Chapel won, 25-22, 25-19, 25-11, Thursday.

Estancia is 0-11, 0-4 in league.

Sage Hill 4, Brethren Christian 2

NEWPORT COAST — Sage senior Jack Heffron pitched a complete game, allowing just three hits in the Academy League game Thursday at Sage Hill.

Heffron was also two for three with a double. Darren Hardy and Michael Yorita were both two for three for the Lightning as well.

Sage Hill (4-7, 4-3 in league) plays at rival St. Margaret’s on April 19.

Corona del Mar 18, Northwood 5

CORONA DEL MAR — Sophomore Jack Ortlieb had five goals and three assists on his 16th birthday for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game Thursday.

Hunter Molnar had four goals, Michael Keasey had three goals and Casey Mix had two goals and four assists for CdM (9-1, 6-0 in league).

IRVINE — The Sea Kings clinched at least a share of the Pacific Coast League title Thursday at Oak Creek Golf Course.

Karick Brown (even-par 36), Ryan Grable (37), Chase Wheatley (39), Brian Mull (39) and Mike Moorhead (39) scored for CdM (15-1, 8-0 in league).

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Estancia’s Jake Knapp was co-medalist with an even-par 36 in the Orange Coast League match Thursday at Mile Square Golf Club.

Aaron Wood (40), Courtland Lee (41), Jake Stone (42) and Bill Crosson (43) also scored for Estancia.

The Eagles (13-0, 10-0 in league) play Westminster on Monday at Costa Mesa.

NEWPORT BEACH — The Sailors’ Marcus Kiel and Zach Eddy were co-medalists after both shot three-over-par 39 in the Sunset League match at Big Canyon Country Club Thursday.

Brad Tapfer (40), Mason Moody (42) and Carter Norris (42) also scored for Newport Harbor (10-7, 4-1 in league).

Corona del Mar 13, Northwood 5

IRVINE — CdM freshman Carson Williams swept in singles, including a 6-3 win over No. 1 Julian Ruffin in a Pacific Coast League match Thursday.

Alex Murray and Carter Wheatley swept at No. 1 doubles, while Ismaen Aboubakare and Alec Adamson swept at No. 2 doubles for CdM (13-2, 6-1 in league).

Newport Harbor 12, Huntington Beach 4

NEWPORT BEACH — Craig McKennon and Greg Brostek swept at No. 1 doubles for the host Sailors in the Sunset League match shortened due to rain Thursday.

Fred Matz won two sets at No. 3 singles and was ahead in the third, when the rain came.

The Tars are 6-9, 2-4 in league.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

El Dorado 10, Newport Harbor 9

NEWPORT BEACH — Stephanie Storch and Kristen Rohan scored two goals each for the Sailors Thursday.

Goalie Cailynn Smethurst had nine saves for Newport Harbor, which played down one player in the second half because of being dealt three yellow cards in the first half.

Woodbridge 77, Corona del Mar 50

CORONA DEL MAR — Troy Bolus was a double winner for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League meet Thursday.

Bolus won the 110-meter high hurdles in 15.8 seconds and the long jump (20 feet, 5 inches). Derek Satterfield led a CdM sweep in the 3,200, winning in 10:15.7. Blake Myers was second in 10:15.8 and Austin Barvin was third in 10:21.4. Ian Klug won the high jump (6-0) for the Sea Kings.

GIRLS’ TRACK & FIELD

Woodbridge 77, Corona del Mar 50

CORONA DEL MAR — Karleh Wilson led a Sea Kings’ sweep in the shot put at the Pacific Coast League meet Thursday.

Wilson won with a mark of 36 feet, 5 inches. Jessica Imani was second (25-2 1/2) and Lala Soum was third (27-8 1/2).

Imani won the discus (121-6). CdM’s Cassidy Lundy won the 100 meters in 12.7 seconds. Ashlee Powers took first in the 1,600 in 5:06.8 and Ally Brahs won the high jump (4-8) for the Sea Kings.
