IRVINE — Sophomore Casey Mix had five goals and two assists for the undefeated Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game Wednesday.

Senior Hunter Molnar (two assists) and junior Jack Ortlieb scored three goals each for CdM (10-0, 7-0 in league). Junior Brett Nelson scored two goals and senior Michael Keasey had two assists.

GIRLS’ SWIMMING

Corona del Mar 87, Woodbridge 83

IRVINE — The Sea Kings clinched the meet in the meet-ending 400-yard freestyle relay for the second straight day.

CdM finished second and third in the event to hang on for the victory. If Woodbridge’s “B” team would have taken third place, the meet would have ended in a tie.

Natalie Wong won the 100 butterfly (1:00.49) and 100 backstroke (1:03.41) for CdM (3-0 in league).

CORONA DEL MAR — Kacie Kline scored four goals for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game Wednesday.

Gabby Smith and Sabrina Smith scored three goals each, while Cassidy Napolitano and Sara Machoskie had one takeaway each for CdM (10-2, 6-0 in league).

BOYS’ GOLF

Corona del Mar 184, San Clemente 197

NEWPORT BEACH — John Davenport was the medalist after shooting even-par 35 for the Sea Kings in the nonleague match Wednesday at Newport Beach Country Club.

Chase Wheatley shot 36, Roger Serad carded a 37 and Brian Mull, Mike Moorhead, Hale Furey and Karick Brown each shot a 38 for CdM (15-0).

BOYS’ SWIMMING

Corona del Mar 135, Woodbridge 35

IRVINE — Jared Namba won a pair of events for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League meet Wednesday at Woodbridge High.

Namba won the 200-yard individual medley in 1:54.66, as well as the 100 butterfly in 51.21 seconds. Other winners for CdM included Liam Karas in the 200 free (1:48.14), Christian Garkani in the 50 free (21.72) and 100 free (48.06), Paul Sigler in the 500 free (4:50.55), Patrick Ong in the 100 back (59.38) and Ben Zepfel in the 100 breast (1:04.54).

CdM (2-1 in league) also won all three relays.

BOYS’ TENNIS

Corona del Mar 14, Troy 4

FULLERTON — The Sea Kings won eight out nine singles sets, including two big wins over No. 1 Carl Hernandez, bound for UC Irvine, in the nonleague match Wednesday.

Hernandez is ranked No. 13 in the United States Tennis Assn. Southern California 18s rankings. Alec Adamson defeated Hernandez, 6-4, and Carson Williams beat him, 6-3.

In doubles, Alex Murray and Dan Anastos won, 6-2, 6-1, before being subbed out for Corona del Mar (11-2), which plays host to Northwood Thursday at 3 p.m.

NEWPORT COAST — The Lightning dropped to 7-7-1 after losing the Anaheim Lions Tournament game Wednesday.
